20th December 2018
It has certainly been a jam packed 2018, full of achievements, fun and harmony!
We took part in the Glasgow Music Festival, following that up with a great performance at the BABS national convention, where we obtained our best ever result.
Along the way we had a transformative mirrored rehearsal, a fantastic retreat and high energy coaching with the mighty awesome Joe Connelly.
After a well-deserved summer break, we seem to have never stopped singing. It was wonderful to sing with singers from every barbershop chorus in Scotland at Macappella in Perth and we look forward to next year’s event.
It has been huge fun to sing carols around Edinburgh on three Saturdays in December, culminating in two great Christmas concerts with Fox Covert and Clermiston primary schools, in the process raising a total of £1282.81 for our partner charity Prostate Scotland.
However in a year of many highlights, the standout event was the Lets Get Together concert where we joined with the Gilmerton Singers and Forth Valley Chorus to honour our friend Nick Hayes and to raise £3300 for St Columba’s Hospice. Nick has been an inspiration to us all and it was a privilege to join with his many friends to sing for him. Nick has left us a great legacy.
Roll on Edinburgh Fringe 2019!
